Dix was born in Paducah, KY in 1953 and didn’t begin wearing shoes until 1963!
He graduated from Murray State University with a double major in Speech and English, 1975 then served on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Alabama, 1975-78.
Graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a four-year ThM in Hebrew and Semitic Studies, 1978-1982. He met Cynthia Blum while in seminary and married her in 1982.
Dix’s career in ministry:
-Associate pastor at Grace Bible Church, Tuscaloosa, AL from 1982-1983.-Founded Trinity Bible Church in Owensboro, KY 1983-1984.
-Walk Thru the Bible Instructor 1985-1995.
-Colorado Director for Search Ministries 1985-1998.
-Founded Impact Ministries 1998 in Denver, CO.
-Took over teaching Bob Beltz’s Bible Class at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, CO from 1998-2012.
-Graduated from Southern Evangelical Seminary 2005 with a Doctor of Ministries in apologetics.
-Founded and pastored Crosspoint Community Church from 2012 until 2023.
Dix is currently back to serving as Founder and Director of Impact Ministries. Impact was dormant, but still registered as a non-profit while Dix was pastoring the church. Dix’s duties include bible teaching, discipleship, apologetics, and founding micro-churches.
Dix and Cynthia have one son, Austin. He served as a military intelligence officer during the Afghanistan war. After finishing his service with the Army, he became a firefighter/paramedic with South Metro Fire Department. They are thrilled to have a 2-year-old grandson, Gunnar, and an amazing daughter-in-law, Marin.
This year Dix gave up riding Motorcycles but still enjoys playing golf when time allows. Dix’s greatest passion besides his family is teaching the Bible in a clear, understandable, and practical manner.
